Disney Days

A couple weeks ago we went on a semi-spontanious trip to Disneyland. 

It was Madelynn's first time. 

We went on It's a Small World very first. Madelynn loved it and danced like crazy. 

My mom and I took the kids on the tea-cups. I was excited because we usually steer clear of Fantasyland but with three smallish children I got to go on them. 

We spent more time on the carousels than I care to admit. But let's get real. With a 5 minute wait and with Mckinley, how could we pass them up. They are her FAVORITE!!! 

Hunter and Mckinley both got hats this trip. They were pretty sweet. 

The new Little Mermaid ride is now one of my favorites. It was actually SUPER adorable. Mckinley was fun to take on it. One night it was closed and her world basically came crashing down. 

Hunter and Mckinley have this quirky love for maps. They always had their maps out and Mckinley was amazingly good at telling us where things were. It was quite impressive for a two year old. The picture above is Mckinley showing my mom where we were going next on the map. 

The first day we took the monorail into Disneyland. 

A little later that day Mckinley said she wanted to go on the thermometer. We weren't sure what she meant but we figured out that she meant the monorail. My mom and I ended up taking her and she loved it!

It was a very fun and successful trip. Seeing the kids love every minute of it was what made it worthwhile. 

Growing Up

Good news! In 4 weeks I will no longer be living with the current roommates I have. I know, I'm so sad. How will I ever live without them?!? Living in an unsanitary environment, listening to them and their boyfriends all night long, disgusting smells, gross food, raw meat left out for days.... I'm terribly sad to be leaving.

I hope you can sense the sarcasm. 

I'm moving to the cutest little apartment downtown at the end of this semester. I'm SO excited I can't even say. It's basically brand new and nicer than I could ever imagine. I did lots of house hunting before my mom and I decided that this would be the best place for me. You wouldn't believe some of the places we looked at. They were definitely pretty sketchy. It's amazing how people don't take care of  anything. 

I made my very first large purchase for my new/future homes. A living room set! 

It's so cute and super comfortable which is a major bonus! 

Feast your eyes. . . 

I am also in major debate mode about this kitchen table. I need to decide soon and don't know what to do.  Any opinions and comments are more than welcome! Help me out here people! 

I'm so excited to be moving words can't even say. I feel like this will be a huge stepping stone for me. Even though I'm in an "apartment" now I feel like this will finally be MY place and MY home. I already feel so much more grown up and I haven't even moved in yet. 

I can't wait to just hang out and be totally comfortable in my own place! 

Kony 2012: Make Him Visible

I've heard of the Invisible children before but didn't honestly know what it was. I knew it had something to do with the war in Uganda and that was the extent of my knowledge. I dislike politics and hate getting involved in anything that might closely connect with it. This however, is different. This is one thing we can all agree on. This is the world coming together to stop a horrendous man who has stolen the lives of thousands of children. I can't imagine the thought of this happening to my nieces or nephew, cousins, and the kids I work with. The mere thought makes me sick. 

JOSEPH KONY IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S WORST WAR CRIMINALS AND I SUPPORT THE INTERNATIONAL EFFORT TO ARREST HIM, DISARM THE LRA, AND BRING THE CHILD SOLDIERS HOME.

Words With Who?

Okay, yes I play Words With Friends. 

No, I don't cheat. 

Yes, a lot of people do. 

So an.... old friend (If even that), who we will call Lou Sir, decided he'd like to play a game of Words With Friends with me. Okay, whatevs, let's play. Well it took about one and a half turns before it was completely obvious he was cheating. Well I've taken a lot of crap from Lou Sir in the past and he has basically been on my list ever since. So for my pure enjoyment I decided to call him on it. It went like this. . . 

Kylie: I'm convinced you're cheating....

Lou Sir: your cheating

There's your sign. 

A person who doesn't know when to use your and you're. Yeah, they definitely are cheating at a word game. He's a winner. 

She Shoots, She Scores!

You know those few and far between times that everything seems to work out in your favor? Well mostly everything...Lately it's been a little like that for me and let's be honest, when that happens you've gotta take the time to soak it all up... enjoy every minute of it. Nothing is perfect by any means but I am beyond happy and have been spending more than my fair share of time on cloud nine. 

I guess through all this I've learned that faith gets you through anything and if you're not happy with where you are then you have the power to change it and make it better. You'll be amazed with how even putting forth just a little bit of effort can move you miles in the right direction. 

Sometimes what appears to be the "good" things in life have to end to make room for the truly incredible things to begin. Sometimes people have to walk out of your life so that even more amazing people can walk in and steal a place in your heart. You have to experience the not so happy times to truly appreciate and recognize when things are going wonderfully. 

This past week has been one of my favorites so far this year. Even with the stress of school I wouldn't change one thing about it. It's amazing how certain things fall into place so perfectly. It just leaves me in awe at how amazing the big guy upstairs is and how flawless his plans truly are for each of us. 

Life is good and I'm loving every minute of it lately. 

Let's hope it keeps going in this direction.
