A while back I ate my VERY first gas station hot dog. It was from the neighboring Maverik. I was shocked! I liked it! (I never thought I would) It was a cheddarwurst at that. Maverik has uped their game with the gas station food but that's beside the point.
My roommate works downtown and one day she found a hot dog shop.
We decided we should try it out.
After driving around like a mad woman, we finally found a place to park. Except she couldn't get out because I had put her right in a bank of snow. Whoops. My bad.
It was called Good Dog Hot Dog Emporium
I could tell right away that the people who owned it had a great sense of humor judging by their store hour window decal.
Talk about weird hours, by the way.
The hot dogs were average. Not great, not bad. I don't know if I'd go back for the hot dogs specifically but their sense of humor got me.
So there you have it. Who would have ever thought a hot dog shop would be referred to as an emporium. Not I.
Now do yourself a favor and go eat a hot dog.
Who knew such a place existed?! I wonder how much business they do!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool! I just looked up directions there... I'm going to try and eat a hot dog there when I'm in SLC this summer!
ReplyDeleteOh, and about their hours. Most downtown places close during that awkward "in-between lunch and dinner" phase... Closed on Sunday because it's the Sabbath and closed Monday nights for FHE. That's my guess, anyways :)
